Thank you for your interest in the Jessica Jackson Co-operative. We are located on a quiet street with mature trees on (the corner of Church and George Streets) in the Heritage Preservation Area halfway between the UNB and STU and downtown. The house is eight houses from the mighty Saint John River in the downtown east plat area of Fredericton near both the walking/cycling trail and public transportation. There is bus service from the Fredericton Airport.
The house is for mature individuals only. The house is clean, well maintained and very quiet. The premises are smoke free. You may have a guest overnight only occasionally. There is a $250 security deposit due when you book your room. Month-to-month lease or a short term stay is sometimes available. The housekeeper comes every Wednesday to clean the common areas of the house and there is a full-time maintenance person.
The house sits on three city lots with a large, private, fenced backyard. There is lawn furniture, a propane BBQ, a picnic table with large canopy, ponds, mature trees and gardens. There is ‘dusk-to-dawn lighting in the driveway, on the back porch and in the back yard. If you want to park in the driveway you must request a parking allotment.
Each bedroom is well decorated and fully furnished with a dresser, bed including a mattress pad, computer desk, bookcase, closet or wardrobe, and lamps. Bedrooms vary in size and several have fireplaces, ceiling fans and one has a beautiful marble sink. Each bedroom door has a lock. Bell Aliant high-speed wireless N internet is included. Bedrooms vary in price from $300 to $390 per month and includes everything.
The common rooms include three bathrooms with lots of hot water (there are two 40 gallon hot water heaters) and a laundry room. The living room has a TV that gets all the channels and a DVD player. The kitchen includes an upright freezer, a commercial fridge, stove and microwave, all dishes and pots and pans, toaster, blender, toaster oven etc. There is a pantry room too. Lights stay on 24 hours a day in the common area hallways.
The house is comfortable and provides safe, comfortable and inexpensive housing for individuals looking for a homey atmosphere.
Yours truly,
Patricia des Champs
